I've sat in church near tears due to frustration and embarrassment... *sigh* I thought I'd share something that has reeeeaaaalllly helped, nay changed our sacrament meeting stress completely. My step mom is the brains (and brawn) behind this: the Sunday bag. We now have a bag of toys that are Sunday ONLY. I have a couple of quiet books, a packet of Greg Olsen's Jesus pictures with a hole punches in the corner put on a ring, a Jesus puzzle made out of Popsicle sticks (thank heavens I have family more crafty that I am!), one of those magnetic make-a-moustache-or-silly-face things, a couple of dollar store disney characters that like to play with the stripling warrior figure... Anyway. They are things the boys now look forward to (after the Sacrament is passed!) Yes, they're easier to use on the bench, but after establishing the habit, have also been successful on the chairs. Oh, and I often have smarties. And snacks/the whole meal. If eating PB and J's, crackers, and juice boxes keeps my kids quiet, I'm so over the embarrassment of it! Anyway, food and the Sunday bag are the real reasons for this rambling. :) Christyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11024779338418909327noreply@blogger.com
